High Permaculture Entrepreneur Newsletter

Take 5 for Sunday 10-6-19: A weekly blog highlighting permaculture projects, people, products, podcasts and more!

(1)What’s going down @theboomstead? We are going to go there tomorrow after we do our Mile High Micro Greens tasks like sow seeds, harvest for Monday deliveries and other business/micro farm tasks. There is always something to do when you are a serial-entrepreneur but we feel the best part is knowing we get to decide each day and what the most important tasks that need to get done will be so we also live each day to the fullest. Plans for fall prep work like plant some Jerusalem artichokes in the pond area plus kickback and do a Sauna and enjoy the prairie stillness and stars. Everyone should get out of the city and feel the country vibes.

These weeks sure do fly by, if we are not doing permaculture projects we are out hiking a 14er for sure. Here is us finishing Mt. Evans last Sunday. It was Windy AF the entire time but I am glad we did It with our dog Tabasco!

Fall Permaculture Projects this past week at The Denver Urban Boomstead (The D.U.B.): Trimming excess branches to prevent them from breaking when this crazy fall snowstorm hits this Thursday. Also, we have decided it is best to be racking up the first set of leaves so we don’t have bags on bags on bags of leaves to rack up once they all fall. We threw the leaves in all composting bins (worm composting bedding, dry material for the tumbler and added a bunch into our giant pile o’ compost that we add our left over harvest of Microgreens each week that is located in the chicken coop for them to peck at and turn for us everyday. Soon we will move all this compost out of their coop for them to not touch any more and we will water it down and cover it for it to build up more heat and officials become compost that is ready to use in our 2020 garden!

(2) A Permaculture Cleaning Product we use everyday: One of the other projects we do every week is Cleaning our house it always seems to need to be done. I try to remember to put shit away all the time and at least pick up 5-10 things before I go to bed. We love the All-Purpose cleaning product Force of Nature for all cleaning jobs. It’s not toxic and just as effective as bleach. Plus, it cheaper than all cleaners once you buy the charging stand and the activator capsules to get you through the first 3 months of cleaning you will not regret your decision to team up with the force of nature for your everyday cleaning needs. Please click our affiliate link and help us earn $20 while you save big bucks when you buy one of their giant bundles SAVEBIG40 is the October fall code.

(3) Permaculture people you should follow on instagram: @b0bby.gill and @SavoryInstitute If you want a deep dive in regenerative agriculture happening in Colorado check out Bobby Gill bring buffalo back to Colorado at West Bijou Ranch and help us all see the importance of our interconnected with personal and planetary health. If we can protect nature we will protect our overall wellbeing as humans.

Audible Pro Listening tip: Start on 1.5x and gradually keep increasing the speed to listening to books quicker. You can always slow it down or rewind if you need to rehear something.

(4) New Books I am excited about on audible: Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday. I just started this book and I am excited because in this chaotic world we all live in I think the thing we all need most is the ability to let stillness overcome and allow us to feel the present moment. Another book I just listened to for the second time was The Secrets of the Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer he brings to light the 4 principles of enlightenment that has been taught across all Religious and Spiritual traditions across the world: First live with a reverence for all life; Two, live with natural sincerity; Three, live with gentleness in reference to kindness, consideration to others and sensitivity to spiritual truth: Four, live with supportiveness meaning provide service to others without need for a reward. By living in mindfulness, through the process of allowing, just being and embracing this heightened level of consciousness, goes back not to attracting what you want, but attracting what you are. Which I ultimate believes allows you to live a fulfilling life every fucking day.

Audible pro saving tip: By 10+ Credits at a time. Once you start listening to audiobooks, you get addicted to the valuable content you area adding to your life when you would normally be listening to music or nothing at all. So do yourself a favor and by multiple credits at once and avoid the over-priced subscription. Why pay $15 for a 1 credit when you can get it down to as low as

Go Check out Seth Marcus’ The MindMill Podcast today – Creating media & products to help humans be their BEST self

(5) The Power of a Share. You might not be able to donate today but you can help by sharing someone’s mission by 3x to hopefully find the person who can help them right now. Go fund me is a great way to help someone who needs a lot of help during a super rough patch in their life. I have only listened to Seth Marcus’ podcast @theMindMill and follow him on instagram, randomly I also follow this photographer who is also living in Denver. They are both crushing life by doing what they want as entrepreneurs. I just saw however @jakeholschuh post from today (that the two of them are brothers but also found out that Marcus was diagnosed with lymphoma (which although is treatable doesn’t mean anyone can handle the high accumulating medical expenses) So if you can help by giving than do it or share his go fund me so someone else can!
