Take 5 for Tuesday – 4/3/18 A blog about Podcasts, People, Permaculture, and so much more!

Take 5 for Tuesday:

(1) Top Podcasts from last week: Joe Rogan Experience with Wim Hof – Both episdoes are a must listen . Go back and check out our Boom Biography and learn about Wim Hof and find the links to his documentary and the Joe rogan podcasts.

& How I built this podcast 3/18/2018 Episode with inside look at nutrition bar Lärabar and founder Lara Merriken. I didn’t realize this nutritional bar was founded in Colorado and it is is super cool to find out how a company is built from the ground up with just an idea of a tasty new nutritional bar.

(2) Spring has sprung & it’s time to get gardening but not starting to soon and planning our two keep steps to having a successful garden. Especially in our crazy Colorado climate. We never know when last frost date is gonna be. So be on your toes and have protective hoop houses set up to help your beds if a late frost finds it ways in to your garden. Keep a heads out for our gardening tips blog post coming this week. But Here are 2 new Journals we purchased on amazon for tracking our Garden year after year or week after week depending on which Journal we decide to use. Maybe both.

(3) Freaky Soil Facts:  Fact 1: There are as many living organisms in a single cubic inch of healthy soil as there are human beings on the planet.  Protecting our soil is more important than ever and at this point in time (Fact 2:) Industrial agriculture is responsible from the loss of two billion ton of topsoil a year. – The Seed Underground: A Growing Revolution To save food by Janisse Ray.  Soil is life , protecting it and our food supply is one of the most important things we need to be acting on as humans.

(4) Quote of the week:  “Take Initiative or the Status Quo will persist” from The Seed Underground: A Growing Revolution To save food by Janisse Ray

(5) Projects from last week – included prepping our 9 tree holes before the delivery on 4/12 (we though they were coming this past Friday 3/30 but plants are quite ready but now we are which feels good. We Shredded Breckenridge for like the 10th or something time this year and crawfish boil #2 happened. So much good NOLA FOOD.  We hung with both our families on easter weekend. All around pretty fun and easy last week to march. In April, this month, we plan on picking up some cob to finish the cob oven we started last year. Along with Crawfish boil #3 for birthday crawfish fun!!! We also plan on having a workshop type thing going down at the preschool we have a garden at in Parker,CO this month.
