How Can I Live Healthy my Whole Life?

Here are the 10 Health & Vitality Life Hacks from Young Permaculture Entrepreneur Farmers

Basically, a quick blog on what it takes to live healthy all year long and keep your workout routine alive.

It’s always been hard to Keep your workout routine alive all year long and even more now during this time of change and unknown. But right now maybe the chance you get to turn your life around and start living healthy for the rest of your life.

We are already four months in to 2020 and you are either still crushing your new years health resolutions or you have allowed yourself to slip back into past habits and allowed old routines that are just not helping you meet your potential to stay alive.  We think in order to meet your goals every day, every week, every month, and every year requires first for you to have them. So if you wrote down your health goals at the first of the year good job! You are already a step ahead of most people.

Writing down your specific goals is the first part to knowing exactly what you want. (This is true when it comes to anything, not just health)

If you have reached all your 2020 goals and it’s only April you need to sit down and write down more goals that will help you stay focused and committed to your life and overall health and happiness over time.

As far as health goals if you are failing. It’s ok. Start right now. Stop reading and go on a walk, head to the (online) gym, at least give me 40 squats or 40 pushups. Drink a tall glass of water and just do it.  If you tell yourself you can do it and you keep repeating it. “I can do this” “I got this” I promise you will feel better after pushing through the hesitation to move your body and then just going for it.

Runner’s high or feeling energized after exercise is a real thing. Key biological processes are underway when you get up out of your chair and start moving your body. A lot of people get stuck when the weather changes or if you are going through something as traumatizing as social distancing. It is ok to give yourself a break and take it easy; however, don’t let this feeling of uncertainty turn it into a habitual daily occurrence of missing your workout.

However Working out is just one of the many things you can do to promote health and vitality.

Self Care is the most important thing you can do right now for three reasons (1) It Boosts your Immune System (2) It helps you connect with universal divine energy (3) If you help your self you can help others.

Working out is a form of self care not the only thing that promotes self care.

Here are Ten Life Hacks you can do that promotes health and vitality all year long that has nothing to do with your workout routine:

  1. Meditate Daily for 15 minutes (plus 2 minute life visualization)

Meditating is the #1 thing you can do for 15 minutes everyday because it changes the neural network in your brain , literally rewiring your neural pathways, making them stronger and allowing you to connect with your sub-conscious and divine energy.  Think of nothing let the energy flow in and out your body with each breath for 15 minutes, clear your mind and take the last 2 minutes to visualize what you want you life to look like down to the exact outfit you are wearing in your ideal perfect life.

  1. Drink More Water

Eating healthy starts by drinking more water and less sugar.  When we wake up in the morning we are dehydrated. Make the easy selection for a glass of water with a shot of apple cider vinegar to help balance your PH and get your bodies biological systems moving. Drinking more water is hard for people to do but it starts with your morning glass and your night time glass of H2O. I like to remind myself that our bodies are made up of over 60% water so it is an essential resource we need to consume and I try to practice gratitude for every glass especially as we live in weird times where access to fresh water is not always guaranteed.

  1. Daily Walk

A daily walk is not only our most basic source of exercise, it is something that clears our minds, ground us and connects us with nature and our divine selves. Go on a walk without your phone and just feel the difference in your overall energy and level-headedness

  1. Eliminate Sugary Drinks from Diet  & No Sugar after Sunset

Sugar is the number one culprit of all underlying disease. We can choose to recognize this fact or you continue to stuff your face with bullshit soft drinks, and processed food that converts to sugar as soon as it hits your bloodstream.

  1. Get Good Sleep (Good Bed, Black-Out Curtains, No EMFs in Bedroom)

Getting a goodnight sleep requires more than just Turing the lights off at night. Any form of light will stop melatonin production leaving you feeling restless and energized at night. Plus your diet can effect your adrenal function and affect your cortisol production causing that wakefulness feeling in the middle of your sleep cycle. Eat for you adrenals, cut out fried foods and up your leafy vegetable intake. Also, practice Blue Light Blocking techniques after 4pm like wearing blue light blockers & converting LED lights to Thomas Edison style lighting to help boost melatonin production.

6.Coffee Colonics 1 x Month

There is more than one reason to practice this “weird” self care technique but it is one that helps remove toxins from the body, encourages healthy digestion system and many other vitality boosting effects come from this 20 minutes of monthly awkwardness. Go read Ben Greenfield’s article on the why and hows of Coffee Enemas. https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/article/digestion-articles/kion-coffee-enema/

7.Eat Local Vegetables,  Vegetable in Season & Know Your Farmer

Eating healthy is as easy as growing your own food  & Raising Backyard Chickens and/or Goats. Cutting out the middle man and eliminating the transportation of your food is the easiest way to ensure the quality and nutrition in your food. The amount of nutrients lost during transportation is hard to quantify but all fruits and vegetables begin to lose nutrients within 24 hours of being package for transport.

8.  Compost your scraps and backyard leaves

All of the world is losing top soil at an astronomical rate due to poor big agriculture monoculture techniques and if we don’t have top soil we won’t be able to grow food without fertilizers. At some point the fertilizers will further degrade the soil, turning and leaving fertile land into a barren desert and the chance for dust bowls in the future where food will not be able to grow at all. That’s is why we all need to compost whether in a house or apartment your farmer needs compost to promote top soil health in order to have and grow nutrient dense food.

9. Ice Baths & Cold Showers

If you haven’t tried an ice bath or a cold shower you need to go check your self. It not only promotes vitality but it helps build willpower and strength in all faucets of life.

10. Dry Saunas or Inferred Sauna

Build up heat shock proteins to promote vitality, immune system function and overall well-being. And 20 minutes at 210 Fahrenheit is also a test of your will power, body and mind control

To be honest with our hectic permaculture entrepreneur lifestyle of running two businesses there is a lot of hustling around and more workouts missed than I would like. Figuring out our new workout routines has become a difficult thing for us lately however we do find to at least one legitimate workout in a week. My goals are to do yoga everyday and I give myself a break when that doesn’t happen. I want to do a HIIT once a week but as female I know there are few weeks during my monthly cycle where I shouldn’t  push as hard in the gym and focus on more healing and other self-development.
