Take 5 for Friday:  1-19-18

Take 5 for Friday:  1-19-18

(1.) Podcasts we listened to this week:

All Joe this week – he just crushes it by creating real conversations with so many BADASS HUMANS!

Joe Rogan Experience #1064  Eddie Huang &  – conversations on Net Neutrality discussing Internet control   and how broadband providers now have legal rights to block sights, throttle internet speeds, and monopolize the media. This is not Good!

Joe Rogan MMA Fight companion #11 – John Danaher – Jiu jitsu master, teacher, mentor to a lot of fighters. He share some crazy information about Champion George St. Pierre – he has ulcerative colitis , my cousin has battled with this disease her whole life and it was crazy to hear about a world class fighter struggling with the same issues. Goes to show – we can do anything if you take persistent action.

Joe Rogan Experience #1065  Danica Patrick – Woman Race Legend! Listening to it right now. Go Check it out!

(2.) Books we are reading:

Just finished The Art of Living: Peace and Freedom in the Here and Now byThich Nhat Hanh’s book – I think everyone needs to read this book, it will help you understand your self, others and the joy of the present moment. And how mindfully being in the present is the road to happiness.

Jocko Willink’s  – Discipline Equals Freedom: Field manual – If you need to get motivated and/or struggling with anything – this book will pump you up. Read or Listen to it , Jacko is a retired navy seal , and will give you every reason not to be lazy and cease the opportunity in front of you. I have been reading 10-20 pages in the morning in bed at it makes you want to get out of bed and do the damn thing.

And Women Who Run With Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes – This book was recommended to me by a fellow Yogini and I have enjoyed reading this book; it offers a collection of tales passed down through generations to help woman find themselves and the art of trusting their intuition.

(3)OUR FAVORITE COFFEE:

Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee with Lion’s Mane. No this company is not offering a Psychedelic coffee experience man!  They have a lot of products but their Coffee gives us great energy, tastes earthy and delicious; has 1/2 the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee and half the mount of coffee grounds. It is a mixture of ground up Lion’s Mane Mushroom with arabic coffee.  Plus it has zero of the acidic tummy “rush to the toilet” problems that a lot of coffee users experience.

Thanks to Tim Ferris he offers 10%off discount code to his listeners for first time Four Sigmatic Customers. Here is the Code: TIM

(4.) Projects done or to do @ the boomstead:

Finished fence on kitchen Garden ; frozen pipes on Sunday and Monday! Did a lot of reading and yoga and we are guilty of Netflix binge watching – The End of the F*!$ing world.  A crazy British series with a Bonnie and Clyde type duo running away from home. Sold our truck topper for our Tacoma for $1000 bucks. We have had it for a year and it was kind of not worth the hype. Hard to transfer bigger bulky items and isn’t that why most people have a truck in the first place? Plus we are on the cusp of never needing to transfer boom sports equipment again because we have accumulated enough equipment to store it at each location… Boom to that!

We need to work on finishing the Gates for the Kitchen Garden; adding the bunny guard around the bottom and ordering and planning the kitchen garden before spring hits.

(5.)YOUTUBE is The best FREE teacher or Coach.

The excuse of I don’t know how should no longer exist. Just youtube it! We are so lucky to have access to any information you can think of. This morning we were packing up to head to Breckenridge for the weekend and we are bringing the Recurve Bow for some target practice ; we have this cool carrying case and we need to take the bow apart and store it properly. I know this sounds amateur but we weren’t sure how to store the string – so we youtube’d it and found out how in like less than 2 minutes.

Also Check out Mr. Youtube himself – Julius Yego, Kenyan Olympic medal holder in Javelin – self taught via youtube because he couldn’t find a coach.

Excuses are the enemy of progress.

Just Boom Life!
